My friend is asking "if I have Halo: Master Chief Collection can I download the Halo 1 original" and he's worried if you have to have your own key or can someone give u a key and you be OK to use it? I mean if it's okay I can give him one just wanted to make sure its legally okay, and possible to do. |

You can't "officially" download Halo: Combat Evolved (HPC) as it's a proprietary game, unlike Halo Custom Edition, which is a downloadable addition to HPC ("Officially" for those who own HPC), although "Public" (Pirate) HPC Keys exist. So your friend could use one of these, provided he's able to obtain a copy of HPC, but remember that to copy and distribute a proprietary game is illegal. Any Key sharing of course though, is at your own discretion and not illegal. However, any legal copy of HPC should already come with a unique key anyway. Also consider that Halo: Combat Evolved as part of MCC (which activates through a Steam Account) although an identical game in terms of game play to HPC, is technically different to the original Halo: Combat Evolved (HPC) and any Original Keys are unlikely to work. |

In case of steam: he must have a steam account and therefore the purchase of the game must be included in his game library for later activation |
